Csardas

Csardas is an original composition for Eb Clarinet and Brass Quintet, composed for the Masters recital of Rory Purvis at the Royal Northern College of Music. As the title suggests, the music is heavily influenced by the slow-fast, virtuoso and often wild dance that is the Eastern European Csardas, using a collection of familiar sounding scales and modes as the basis for the melodic elements of this showpiece for Clarinet.
